Here are some of the preventive dentistry services offered by us:
Comprehensive Extraoral/Intraoral Dental Hygiene Examination & Periodontal Assessment
We offer comprehensive extraoral/intraoral dental hygiene examination and periodontal assessment. Our extraoral examination focuses on the head and neck assessment to determine the presence/absence of any asymmetries. Our intraoral examination focuses on oral tissues to determine that everything is within normal limits. Periodontal assessment, on the other hand, is an examination of the periodontium (gums) carried out to identify conditions such as periodontal disease.
Oral Cancer Screening With the Velscope VX Tool
We offer oral cancer screening services. Our team makes use of a velscope VX tool, which is a device that uses natural tissue fluorescence and enhances the visualization of pre-cancers, cancer and other disease processes.
Digital (Low Radiation) Radiographs & Intraoral Imaging (Camera)
X-rays help detect abnormalities, decay between teeth and presence of bone loss. We offer our examining services by using digital radiographs that are known for their low radiations and intraoral imaging cameras. With your permission, we can forward your x-rays and images to a dentist or other health practitioner and determine the root cause of your dental hygiene issue so that necessary treatment can be provided in a timely manner.
Scaling & Root Planing
While we offer routine cleaning services to prevent periodontal (gum) disease, the presence of gum disease requires other treatment options like scaling and root planing (deep cleaning), also known as non-surgical periodontal therapy. We can effectively treat your periodontal disease by offering these services.
Local Anesthesia & Needle-free Anesthesia
The complete comfort and satisfaction of our clients is our first priority, that’s why we administer local anesthesia for clients with sensitive gums and teeth. We also use needle-free anesthesia. Here, we use a special applicator (not a needle) to deliver the anesthetic gel around the selected tooth or below the gum line. We use oraqix for needle free anesthesia.
Periodontal Disease Treatment With Soft Tissue Laser
Periodontal diseases may occur due to bacterial infection in your gum. Our soft tissue lasers come with the benefit of having bactericidal and regeneration effects. This means that using a laser in the treatment of your periodontal disease not only kills the bacteria in the pocket but also promotes healing.
Fluoride Treatment / Xylitol Anticavity Treatment
Fluoride treatment / Xylitol anticavity treatment helps prevent decay and teeth sensitivity. We have several options of fluoride applications, including manually applied fluoride varnish and fluoride foam delivered by trays or fluoride rinse.
We also offer natural non-fluoride and non-GMO, alcohol and paraben-free, anticavity mouthwash for kids. It is safe to swallow and is sweetened only with natural xylitol, which has proven oral health benefits. It has calcium and helps support and strengthen tooth enamel.
Pit & Fissure Sealants
Sealants are protective plastic coatings, which are applied to the biting surfaces of the back teeth. The sealant forms a hard shield that helps prevent food and bacteria from getting into the tiny grooves in the teeth. It is strongly recommended to do a dental cleaning prior to the application of sealants.
Teeth desensitizing agent is applied to the tooth surface (exposed roots or thin enamel). This application can help treat teeth sensitivity.
Caries Arrest: Silver Diamine Fluoride Application
Silver Diamine Fluoride (SDF) is used for caries management. In 2014, SDF was accepted by the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and was approved by Health Canada in 2017.
Silver Diamine Fluoride (SDF) is an antimicrobial liquid that can help reverse and arrest cavities in a non-invasive, fast, affordable, and painless manner. SDF liquid is brushed on to the cavity. This can stop current decay and also prevent decay in the future. SDF stops the progression of the cavity and prevents it from affecting the nerve of the tooth. SDF is safe and can be used by adults and children who are above 3 years old.
